Do you have a passion for helping the community? Are you looking for hands-on experience in patient interaction and treatment? Maybe you would like to learn more about the business aspect of running a successful clinic? If you said yes to any of the above, then this upcoming opportunity might be right for you!

425 Smiles & UW Dental School’s Husky Smiles, PMI Dental Hygiene Program, and Shoreline Community College Hygiene Program are excited to announce our Spring quarter community event on Saturday, April 26, 2025, with Dr. Oleg, a UWSOD graduate and founder of 425 Dental in Issaquah. This is the first time this year this free event is being held, and is designed to assist members of our community who are financially struggling or unable to afford routine dental care the opportunity to receive the treatment they need at no cost.

By volunteering with 425 Dental at this event, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Provide screenings, prophies/SRP’s, restorative treatment, oral medicine care/endo/oral surgery (under supervision of UW/PMI faculty if appropriate per your class status/experience level)
  • Gain valuable experience interacting with patients and families
  • Work in successful state-of-the-art facility equipped with 18 operatories, including a Specialty Care Suite that is designed for Oral Surgery, Periodontics, Endodontics, Orthodontics and Prosthodontics
  • Work alongside dental professionals, including dedicated specialists in endodontics, oral medicine and pediatric dentistry
  • Work alongside your fellow dental school classmates and faculty from both UW Dental School and PMI Dental Hygiene Program
  • Help those in need of dental care and a caring heart

425 Dental is located at 710 NW Juniper St, Issaquah, WA. Dr. Oleg, founder, expresses his desire to give dental and hygiene students an opportunity for real-world application and experience that he wished he had during dental school.

  • Experience and learn how to structure an event held at a private practice, specifically geared towards supporting the dental needs of the community it serves
  • 425 Dental employs in-house specialists that work alongside general practitioners, giving our GPs a unique perspective that they would be happy to share
  • Ask our General Dentistry team any questions about how to transition from dental school to real-life practice
  • Stay after the event to chat with Dr. Oleg on what it takes to build and grow a successful dental practice right out of dental school and discuss the changing marketplace for private practice
  • Work alongside Expanded Function Dental Auxiliaries to see how a high caliber cosmetic and restorative practice utilizes EFDA’s in placing fillings and maximizing their skill set
  • Utilize top-of-the-line dental equipment, like the KaVo NOMAD 2 for x-rays
  • Stay after the event to chat with Dr. Oleg on what it takes to build and grow a successful dental practice right out of dental school and discuss the changing marketplace for private practices and how it affects dentists, hygienists and all team members.

Please note that volunteer spaces are limited, and volunteers MUST confirm their participation closer to the event date in order to ensure that all of our student volunteers are able to get as much experience on the day of the event as possible. Those interested may sign up on a first come, first served basis. Additional volunteers will be added to a waitlist. If any volunteer does not promptly confirm their intent to participate, we will refer to our waitlist to fill that volunteer slot.
