Dr. Laurianne Sakai believes dentistry should feel personal, thoughtful, and comfortable for every patient. Known for her gentle and meticulous approach, she focuses on building trust and helping patients feel confident in their care.
A Sammamish native, Dr. Sakai attended Skyline High School before earning her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Washington School of Dentistry. During dental school, she served as class secretary for four years and mentored undergraduate students interested in pursuing careers in dentistry.
Following graduation, she completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) residency in Othello, Washington. During this program, she expanded her clinical experience in restorative dentistry, pediatric dentistry, sedation dentistry, and hospital dentistry.
Dr. Sakai believes dentistry is about far more than just teeth—it’s about caring for the whole person. She takes time to understand each patient’s concerns, priorities, and comfort level before recommending treatment. Her philosophy is that dental care should never feel rushed or sales-driven, but instead be grounded in education, trust, and doing what is best for the patient.
She is especially passionate about helping patients who feel anxious about dental care. Helping someone overcome dental fear and rebuild confidence in visiting the dentist is one of the most meaningful aspects of her work.
Dr. Sakai is committed to lifelong learning and regularly attends continuing education courses to stay current with evolving dental technologies and treatment techniques. She is an active participant in SPEAR Dental Education, where she dedicates time outside of practice to advanced training in comprehensive dentistry.
Outside of dentistry, Dr. Sakai enjoys spending time with her husband, Jason, and their daughter, Aria. As a family, they love traveling, especially to warm destinations like Hawaii and Arizona. Her faith and values play an important role in her life and influence the compassion and care she brings to her patients each day.
Dr. Sakai enjoys staying connected with her local community and mentoring students interested in pursuing careers in healthcare and dentistry. She has been involved with feeding the homeless in Seattle, providing dental care for low-income families in Whatcom and Skagit Counties, Children’s dental fairs, and visiting schools to discuss oral hygiene techniques with students. She is also actively involved in her church community, supporting college ministry and participating in outreach events.
