Dr. Paul Chang

Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon

Dr. Paul Chang is a board-certified Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon dedicated to lifelong learning and providing excellent patient care. He currently serves as the Department Chief and a faculty member at the Madigan Army Medical Center, where he is responsible for training Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery residents in full scope practice.

Dr. Chang began his academic journey at New York University’s College of Dentistry and later relocated to Washington to embark on his military career and complete his residency training in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery at the Madigan Army Medical Center.

He takes great satisfaction in offering care to our service members and their families, specializing in anesthesia and handling complex dentoalveolar, orthognathic, TMJ, trauma, and facial cosmetic procedures.

Outside of his professional life, Dr. Chang cherishes spending quality time with his wife and children, as well as exploring all the wonders that the Pacific Northwest has to offer.

Andrew Johnson, DDS

Endodontist

Dr. Andrew Johnson attended the University of Nebraska, Medical Center- College of Dentistry in Lincoln, Nebraska from August 1986 through April of 1990. In August of 1990 he began his specialty training in Endodontics at the University of Illinois in Chicago. He received his Endodontic degree in May 1992.

He is currently the president of the John Smith Study Club for the second year in a row and also attends two other study clubs each month. He has kept his skills up to date by completing many continuing education courses each year throughout his career. He is a member of the American Association of Endodontics, American Dental Association and has applied to the American Board of Endodontics. Dr. Johnson is an Endodontist who enjoys educating his patients as well as treating them.

His most satisfying aspect of the practice is treating and caring for his patients. He likes to put himself in the patient’s position and treat them as he would himself, which is how he conducts all aspects of his practice. Making all patients comfortable, getting them out of pain and creating lifelong relationships is his goal for his practice.

Dr. Johnson is married with three children and two grandchildren, and he enjoys spending time with them. His hobbies include a number of activities, golf and basketball are among his favorites.

Luciana Safioti, DDS, MSD

Periodontist

Dr. Luciana Safioti is a Board-certified Periodontist by the American Academy of Periodontology, part-time Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Washington.

Dr. Safioti  graduated from the University of Sao Paulo in Brazil and earned her Graduate Certificate in Periodontics and Master of Science in Dentistry from the University of Washington. She practiced eight years of general dentistry in Brazil and was a full-time faculty member teaching Periodontics at Nova Southeastern University in Florida for 3.5 years.

Dr. Safioti was awarded with the prestigious Clinical Impact Award for her novel clinical research on peri-implantitis, and with the Educator of the Year Award, both from the American Academy of Periodontology.
