Getting to Know Katie

How isit June already? This year is definitely flying by!  What better way to kick off summer than with a feature on Katie, one of our dental assistants.

Here is what she had to say during her interview as part of this month’s ‘Team Q&A Blog Series’. We hope you enjoy getting to know Katie a little better!

Katie, Dental Assistant

Q: When did you know you wanted to be a dental assistant?

A: When I was in high school, my chiropractor was actually the one who urged me to look into dental assisting as a career option. I knew it was the right fit for me before I even graduated from the program.

Q: What’s your favorite part about your job?

A: You don’t hear this answer a lot, by I love all of the technical stuff! Everything from making retainers in our lab to assisting with fillings and more.

Q: On to the personal stuff, what is a hidden talent or fun fact that people wouldn’t expect about you?

A: A fun fact about me is that I love baking treats or making homemade ice cream! If you’re a reeeeeally good patient, you might get to try some of my baked goods. J

Q: What’s your favorite vacation spot and why?

A: My husband and I love traveling to different skiing destinations. Last year we took a road trip around to various ski spots.

Q: Do you have a favorite book or TV series you’re enjoying right now?

A: I’m with my colleague, Lisa, on this one – I’m a big Game of Thrones fan.

Q: What are your favorite hobbies outside of the office?

A: Well, from my previous comment, you can probably guess that I love skiing. But, in the summer I enjoy gardening and biking.

Q: What’s the one thing you wish patients knew about you?

A: I have been working in dentistry for nearly 11 years. I think I’m in this field to stay!
