Sealants young woman in her kitchen

The longer we can protect our teeth, the better. By regularly brushing and flossing, we’re trying our best to prevent tooth decay and cavities, which in turn prevents paying for and making additional trips to the dentist. But our teeth are all unique, and they’re all very complex. There are tons of nooks and small spaces in and between our teeth, especially on the chewing surfaces. Even with great dental habits, it’s difficult to make sure every single tiny space is clean and bacteria-free every single day.

This is especially true for children, who tend to be more prone to cavities in their critical stages of growth. In order to combat cavities, you may want to discuss sealants with the 425 Dental team. Ideal for children and teens, the process involves covering the chewing surfaces of teeth with a resin and quickly sealing it, creating a protective layer over the teeth.

By sealing these teeth, particularly the back molars, the risk of decay on chewing surfaces of the teeth drops significantly. This means not only fewer dental appointments for your child now, but supports healthy teeth as they continue to grow and helps prevent further dental issues for them later in life.
